From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Seekers and Planners groups.
Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
